It is under debate whether rx drug commercials should be banned or limited...

I do not believe T.V. drug ad commericals have as much as an effect on the public as this article is saying. Even is these commericals are banned, it's not going to stop consumers from going to the store and purchasing them.

I think this was a very good article. It's good to see that people are concerned abotu those kinds of things but i don't see a problem with showign rx drugs on tv. I agree with the con section and feel that allowing people to see the packaging and hearign about what it can do is good. It will expand people's knowledge on certain drugs so they can see if it woudl benefit them or not. I think it's a very good article.

Although I think advertising for certain perscription drugs can be useful. It allows patients that need these drugs to become more aware of whats out there. I also think that it constantly provokes people to think about their problems, and almost haunt them with it. It also might be the reason so many people are addicted to these perscription drugs. They are constantly surrounded by ads. Overall I think people can still become aware of the newer drugs from their doctors, we dont need ads every 5 minutes on tv.

I am unsure how certain I feel about the advertisement of perscription drugs on the television. On one side I feel that it is useful because it may lead people watching the commercials to become aware of symptoms, they were unaware of before. Though on the other side, it could be harmful because people are starting to walk into the doctors office not knowing anything other then what they watched on the commercial, and are asking their doctors for various drugs. With the rising number of perscription drug abusers thecommercials make it too easy for people a make their doctors beleive they need this new drug. All you have to do is walk in saying the symptoms they see on the television, and then bring up the prescription drug as a good solution.
